The Villa Reborn: Episode 02

Photo by Quinn Buffing on Unsplash  Keerthi eventually posted her article about the Mumbai familicide. She was dizzy and her eyelids started dripping. After clicking the publish button on the interface, she desperately wanted to close her laptop and doze off. But it was then, she noticed something strange on her screen. It was Instagram with a red dot on top of it. She clicked to open it. There was a message from someone called Javier.       ‘She’s coming.’      ‘7 nights and 6 days,' was the message from that person. She was too tired to think about that message. She just closed the lid of the laptop and dozed off to sleep.  The next morning,      The clock was running past eight and she was still sailing deep in sleep. It was then, her mobile started ringing so loud as it used to ring all the time. After a few rings, she realised it and woke up to answer that call. It was Bharath.      ‘What’s the matter? Let ...

Photo by Noah Silliman on Unsplash      Keerthi was twenty-two years old and she was a writer. She used to write stories, and articles under different blogs and sometimes she used to write for several news agencies. She was running a website on her own. In which she featured her stories and articles. She was quite famous among her circle of writers. She used to live in a one-bedroom flat in Coimbatore. Despite writing content and stories, she had great interest towards witchcraft and the existence of evil spirits. She has a dedicated room for her studies related to this stuff in her house. Not many people knew her interest towards demonic studies. But she had a friend who knew everything about her.       Bharath was a year younger than his friend Keerthi. They were so close that they knew everything about each other. Bharath was Keerthi’s college junior. Since that time, they have been close to each other. He was a writer too. While Keerthi used to wr...

Dear Valentine

Hey, have you loved someone? Yes? No? Okay. Never mind. No one can say that I’ve never loved someone. That’s coz, it obvious that we all have somebody in our life whom we love the most. It can be anyone or anything. Yeah, we can fall in love with things too. I think you can relate to this anything part I said if you’ve seen the bitter part of love. Here the love I mean is the love towards someone who’s magical to our eyes. Beautiful isn’t it? Being with someone who makes us feel special, who never fails to call us magical, yeah. That’s a phase of something great filled with excess dopamine and ecstasy. Fortunately, these both have some limits and they’ll drain out after sometime. Have you ever felt like, “I don’t have the same feelings for her or him like I used to have when we started talking?” Ever? Thought like this? Yeah I’ve gone through the same dilemma. But you know what? Loving someone or loved by someone even when there is no more dopamine ...

#03 New Guest - Exclusive: The Chatbot

I sensed some strangeness with that site. So, to prevent my identity, especially my face, I covered the webcam with tape and proceeded by clicking the game link. A new window popped out as soon as I clicked the link, asking me to login. It wasn’t an actual login. It was just a temporary one for that particular session. The login portal asked for a username, gender and age. There was also a checkbox with the statement,      ‘I agree to your terms and conditions.’      I entered my username as “White goat”, gender as male, and age as 28 and clicked the checkbox to proceed further. It then took me back to the same dark desire portal where I saw a gif of a man with a whip and chop knife with a goat mask. But, this time, he was not there. Instead, a new chatbot opened at the lower left corner of the screen and he was there as the chatbot. To be continued… Please comment your opinion about this story and share if you like it.

Uninvited guest - Surprise

Fifteen minutes past twenty-three and I was still inside my room, standing beside the door with fear and hesitation. Circled deep inside with thoughts and memories of me and Sri together and happy. I then opened the door, expecting the coldest welcome. The power fired back as soon as I opened the door and heard some pops from behind no later the place was filled with colours and glitters.      ‘What the fish is happening here?’ I shouted as I saw Sri standing behind me with a huge smile and eyes wide open. Beside her, there was the woman whom I was afraid of.     ‘Surprise.’ They greeted in unison.

Clouded with your thoughts, love!

A kind note to all the readers, I request you to read the previous episodes before reading this episode.      The soothing music of the ‘Lost cause’ brought me back to my childhood. I was clouded with the thoughts of the day I met her. I was doing my undergrad in psychology. It was a fine sunny Monday morning and the clock was running forty minutes past nine. I was on a bus, going to a place where commoners would dare to go. After a twenty-minute ride on a bumpy road, I eventually reached the place. It was an asylum and I was there to visit a special person. A person who triggered my attention. I came to know about a patient, who killed her entire family. My thesis instructor asked me to pay a visit to that asylum and stay there for a while and make a detailed report about that woman. I was very much excited to hear such an interesting piece of news. It was my dream since childhood to go to an asylum and spend some time with the people who live there. I entered the asyl...

When the party's over #4

Kind attention to the readers, I request you to read the previous episodes before reading this if you are reading this story for the first time.   It was raining outside and I was sitting on my couch, clouded with the thoughts of the woman I had seen. My eyes were heavy, but that dream, it took my desire away from sleep. I decided to pass the upcoming three hours on my couch awaiting the dawn. With a huge sigh, I leaned over the pillow, with my eyes gazing over the portrait of Billie Eilish. ‘Who would hate such a woman?’ I said and continued to stare at her portrait that was hanging on the wall. I turned on my television for some music, I jumped to youtube. It was there on the screen, a playlist named Billie. I hit the play button to let a dose of drug flow through my ears. I immersed myself into her world through her songs with a great start from ‘No time to die’ to a slow dose of heaven called, ‘When the party’s over!’ I just lost myself in her voice which made me dumb eno...

Close your eyes, dear!

A kind note to all the readers, This is the third episode of the series named “The Witch I fell in love with.” I suggest you to read the first two episodes before reading it.      ‘Wake up,’ a disembodied voice hit my ears from a place that was away from my sight. The voice was smoky, soothing, comforting and sweet. There is no man in this world who could possibly hate a person with such a sweet voice. I was very much curious to see the woman behind that voice. I started walking in the direction of that voice. I knew I was dreaming. Unlike the previous dream, this one was quite beautiful to my eyes but filled with wiggling worms and a disgusting odour that was following me from the previous dream. I was not a noobie to such dreams. I used to dream a lot and I’ve seen places which were much worse than this. But, the one thing that was new to me was the voice. I never heard such a voice in any of my dreams. All those voices I heard were the screaming minions and shrilli...

The Witch's Voice #2

A kind note to the readers,             I request you to read the previous post once again before you read this one. Thanks.      I noticed my grandma’s telephone that was ringing. I was shocked to witness that strange happening. ‘How is it possible for a dead telephone to ring like that?’ I doubted my own sense. My legs crawled towards the old phone and my hands were shivering. Having a little courage and a heart full of fear and anxiety, I made up my mind to answer the call. The anxiety to know the person behind the call drove my fear away. I slowly held my hand to the receiver and gently lifted it from its place of rest. It was as silent as a mother’s womb, like a dead man’s voice. A minute later, I felt somet disturbance inside my head. A voice, not the one I heard before. I closed my eyes to concentrate much deeper. It was a woman, a voice of a woman, a woman I never met before. ‘Wake up,’ she whispered from ...

The Witch I fell in love with #1

On a pleasant evening, I was there waiting for you in a place where the sky was covered with a blanket made of roses, cute little cupids with beaks singing and the trees were dancing to the tune of love. Then came the minions of colours to add some nectar to the place and finally, the carrier came, carrying the scent of your love to where I was waiting for you. I made sure that every inch of that place was filled with the love I had for you. There you came, like a queen’s envoy to her king, like a Rose to Jack, like an Olivia to Orsino, with your never-ending charm. You came in, like a fjord, that goes deep inside the heart of the land.      All of a sudden, I felt something strange happening around me, every step you took forward, I began to move away from you. It was not my feet that were moving. I felt the scent of ghouls around me. I felt like, I was held tight to their hands that took me away. It was then, that I lost the scent of your love, the...

Fear

Fear. It is the only feeling that hit us before doing something new or strange. We humans often fear of being scared. Whatever stunts we do, this fear will eventually consumes us. We fear almost everything we come across. We fear the dark, we fear the light, we fear the sun, we fear the moon, we fear gods and demons, we fear witches and priests, we often fear our own race, humans. Above all these, we fear the rejection we're about to face. We fear to ask money from our dad, we fear the wrath of our mom after introducing our girl or boy friend, we fear to express our talents, we fear to confess to our loved ones.    'Oh fuck! I can't tolerate a rejection,' are the words that emerge out of shity people who's expecting every fortune to hit their shiny plate of life. Consume your fears, convert them as your fuel. Go and confess without the fear of rejection. You can be great :)

The Mansion #3

Previously, on the mansion. A man was driving back to his home from his office amidst heavy unforgiving rain. His car got broke down, leaving him stranded in the middle of a highway in solitude. After some time, he found an old abandoned mansion. He decided to seek shelter in the mansion for the night and opened the main door. He could not believe his own eyes about what he saw. It was some kind of demonic worship that was happening inside the mansion and a strange woman appears eventually, finding out the protagonist hiding behind the couch. Episode 3:      ‘Fuck! I’ll be dead meat if they lay hands on me.’ I said to myself with a bladder full of fear. The main door of the mansion was still open and I had no other go but to run like a fucking rabbit to save my precious ass from these bitches.      ‘Get that bastard…’ shouted the elder witch and her puppets started chasing me like a bloodhound hunting its prey.    ...

The Mansion #2

In the previous episode, a man was driving back to his home from his office amidst heavy unforgiving rain. His car got broke down, leaving him stranded in the middle of a highway in solitude. After some time, he found an old abandoned mansion. He decided to seek shelter in the mansion for the night and opened the main door.   Episode 2:      When I opened the main door to the mansion, I saw something disturbing happening inside. I saw a group of women sitting in front of a flame in a circle. They were all dressed in black with a hood to cover up their heads. They were all holding their hands like a chain and they were chanting some mantras. I was terrified to see that because it didn’t seem like a usual ritual performed by holy people. It was a lot darker than the one I’d seen. The mantras they were chanting, I was sure that it wasn’t Sanskrit or any language that I’ve known. It was different and it scared the elixir out of my body. I was ea...

The Mansion #1

On a rainy night, I was driving back to my home from the office. It was heavy rain that flooded the road. I could see nothing but a layer of fog in front of me. The wiper wasn’t helpful this time. I was listening to a podcast about paranormal research. Doctor Dorian was sharing her paranormal experiences with her audience and she was telling about her findings and conclusions, after years of research in that field. She concluded that ghosts are some entities. She wasn’t sure about its existence. But she concluded that there was no proof to say that there are no ghosts around us. She had a theory, stating that there were other paranormal entities around us. She believed that they do exist but in a different dimension. She said that these entities are not in the dimension we used to live in for thousands of years. The podcast was very much interesting and I was driving my way home. Usually, it would take me 40 minutes of drive to reach my home. But, that night was diffe...

Little Nightmares - Episode 1

On a Monday night, everyone in the house was sailing deep into the ocean of sleep. But, I was not doing the same. I was stranded back on the shore waiting for by boat to arrive soon. In the meanwhile, when I was lying on my bed, gazing at the roof, I felt something strange around me. The air around me grew thicker over time, making it difficult for me to breathe. There was also this foul smell coming from outside of my room. When I stood up from my bed, I was surprised to find my grandpa missing from his bed. I could see a light from the living room through the cleave on my door. When I opened the door, I was thrilled to see the mess that was waiting for me. There was a flame burning in the middle of the living room and I could see my family lying down with tied hands and taped mouth. I went near my brother to wake him, who was lying close to me. I didn’t realise that the real nightmare awaits ahead. As I went near him, I saw his slit throat. It was spine-tingling to ...

2 Goodbye!

The next day…       It was the final day at the college. The final project viva was about to begin in a few minutes. The students were waiting outside the seminar hall, dressed professionally. Their faces were filled with apprehension and handsful of papers and reports.      ‘Hey, where is Ram?’ Abi asked the group of boys standing near a wooden desk placed in front of the faculty room.      ‘Uh, what?’ they returned all at once.      ‘Ram. Where is he?’ she asked aloud.      ‘His room was closed. It was locked outside,’ said Siva. One among the boys.      ‘Hey, I saw him at the mess this morning,’ said another.      ‘Why don’t you try calling him?’ he added to his words.      When Abi picked her mobile, she heard a voice from behind. It was a familiar voice that brought a smile of relief to her face. It was Ram. He was walking as slow as a tu...

1 Farewell

It was a Monday night, the day which most of us hate to see in our life. The man of this story is a typical bachelor doing his Mechanical Engineering degree. The hostel was busy with students buzzing hither and thither. But this time, it was different. They were roaming around the hostel, in and out of their rooms with laptops and books in their hands. Preparing for the following day. It was their final project viva and the students were busy doing their reports and other stuff. Like all the students, Ram was also busy preparing his project report for the next day. But, apart from this, they were also preparing for something special. Which will happen only once a year. Yes, it was their farewell celebration. All of them were waiting for the clock to hit midnight. They were counting the final 20 seconds before the celebration. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six…. Three, two, one. The boys started shouting all at once and started with their celebration for the night. Right f...

2 A story about waiting

“So, you were in love,” asked the man sitting in front of me. He was short but quite muscular. He looked like he was from the early 20 th century in his vintage American beard. Despite being muscular, his pumpkin sized belly made him look like a Humpty dumpty with a beard. He was dressed formally like an advocate. A milk-white shirt with black neckwear, which was hanging up to his pumpkin belly, he wore black pant which was as dark as human eyes with a pair of well-polished shoes.      “Were you in love?” he asked again, pointing his pen towards me.      How could he judge this as love? Did I tell him anything about her? I hate this attitude of judging someone.      “I didn’t tell you that it was love,” I said, thudding the table with my fists.      “Apologies. Please continue with your story,” said the man.      I leaned forward to reach to his face and said, “I am done for today. Co...

1 A Story about waiting

On a sunny Monday morning, I was sitting in a place where I never wanted to. It was the place where scholars and students meet to exchange what they have inside their heads. The class was humungous with huge doors and windows with more than a dozen desks. I was seated on one of those which was placed near the window. It was the place where I used to sit for the past three years. Beside me, was a tall, skinny guy with specs seated. I noticed his new hairstyle which resembled the one I had seen in a famous game from Rockstar. I greeted him with a compliment for his new hairstyle earlier this morning when he came to class. Rithick was a man of brands. Whatever he wore, eat, and drink will carry an expensive branding along with it. He was the one who was accompanying me since the first day of college. Mine was a typical Indian engineering classroom filled with people who topped their board exams and had been struggling to qualify after getting into college. The instituti...

Am I a psycho?

On a terrible evening, where the sky was filled with burning clouds of moisture. The sky lost its beauty of blues and turned sad and dark. I was standing in a place filled with a dozen idiots running here and there to fill their filthy greed filled minds and unsatisfied and never-ending hunger. I was in the middle of a dark blackish grey colour road, holding a face mask on my left hand. In the meanwhile, my right hand was pestering my pockets. The noise from the surrounding started fucking up my mind like a full-fledged psychotic thriller film. Being, already fucked, my mind was ready to bear the bangs from my surroundings. I was dressed in a costume in which all 99 per cent of the people my age would wear. As the proverb says, “Face is the index of mind”, my face replicated my mind being fucked up brutally. A few moments later, it somehow managed to escape the hardcore session and suggested me a marvellous idea. Even a kid in their early teens would’ve said that the ...
