The Villa Reborn: Episode 02

Keerthi eventually posted her article about the Mumbai familicide. She was dizzy and her eyelids started dripping. After clicking the publish button on the interface, she desperately wanted to close her laptop and doze off. But it was then, she noticed something strange on her screen. It was Instagram with a red dot on top of it. She clicked to open it. There was a message from someone called Javier.

    ‘She’s coming.’

‘7 nights and 6 days,' was the message from that person. She was too tired to think about that message. She just closed the lid of the laptop and dozed off to sleep.

The next morning,

The clock was running past eight and she was still sailing deep in sleep. It was then, her mobile started ringing so loud as it used to ring all the time. After a few rings, she realised it and woke up to answer that call. It was Bharath.

‘What’s the matter? Let me sleep for some time,’ she said as soon as she answered the call.

‘It’s your article. What on earth are you doing?' he shouted.

    ‘What’s with my article?’

‘Dude, it’s going viral. Thousands of readers are hitting in and you won’t believe it. But, really we are getting some attention. The actual attention we wanted,’ he said.

‘Oh, okay. Now let me sleep,’ she said and hung up on the call.

A few hours later,

The clock was racing past ten in the morning. Keerthi was sitting on a chair in front of the work table with her laptop open. She was reading the comments for that article, many actually appreciated her and so many readers liked her content and her way of writing.

To be continued...

While reading the comments, she noticed a popup from Instagram as same as last night. It was again from Javier. This time, he sent a picture of a cat eating her kittens alive followed by a few texts.

‘A mother will devour her own child.’

    ‘Freezing cold.’

    ‘She’s coming.’

‘Who’s this crap? Sending bullshit over here.’ she said to herself and closed her laptop. She then took her mobile and sent a text to Bharath.

    ‘Hey, Don’t be late ok?’

    ‘Let’s meet at the party.’
